What Can I Expect From the Patient Care Technician Program? 

This program prepares students for a position as a Patient Care Technician. A diploma will be awarded upon successful completion of this program. In the Patient Care Technician training program at FVI School of Nursing, we can give you the skills you need to enter this industry and thrive. 

FVI School of Nursing Patient Care Technician (PCT) program is designed to train the student for an entry-level position in all the relevant aspects of patient care technician assistance, diagnostic testing specifically electrocardiography (EKG), phlebotomy, nursing assistant, home health care needs. This program is designed for those interested in an entry-level position as a patient care technician in a nursing home, rehabilitation facility, extended care facility, a hospital or as a Home Health Care Aid.

As a patient care technician, you work under the supervision of a physician or nursing staff and are fully focused on caring for a patient, monitoring a patient condition, and reporting any findings. As part of the program you will receive all required in-service training and certifications such as Domestic Violence, HIV/AIDS, OSHA, Infection Control and Universal Precautions, Understanding Alzheimer’s disease, Assistance with Self-Administered Medication Training and CPR
